Orion and crew were fantastic. I was scheduled ASAP. They were thorough and fixed the poor caulking in all our gutter corners and fixed the slope and end cap on one gutter. We've been trying to get the slope problem fixed for 2 years! Thank you Royal Gutters. Also, it's great to be able to find a local company to work with.

These guys are amazing. Called royal gutters about getting a bid, within 30 mins had Tony stop by. Tony gave me a bid right on the spot. Had other guys take days to get back, not these guys. Great price. They have so many options and they recommend me a better option for the shop. I was worried about the 6k gutter being too small, but the other gutter guys said it should be fine. Royal gutters gave me an option I fell so much more comfortable with, the BG7 commercial gutter. Communication on the spot, they reached out to me at least 3 times, wh

I had Royal gutters replace the old outdated gutters with new gutters and I couldn’t be more pleased. The crew that did the installation were very professional and nice! Would highly recommend Royal gutters to anyone looking for high quality affordable gutters.Eugene the sales guy was very low pressure compared to other highend gutter companies.the only problem I had was trying to get them to take the old gutters off, so that I could paint the facia boards. I would use them again. Bill of Happy valley

Rain Chain Design & Installation: Your Questions Answered

Question

What advantages do rain chains offer over traditional downspouts?

Rain chains transform an ordinary functional element into an architectural water feature for your home. Unlike standard downspouts, our artisanal rain chains create a soothing water symphony during rainfall, add year-round visual elegance, and increase your home's curb appeal. They're particularly valued in Portland's distinctive neighborhoods for their ability to complement craftsman, modern, and traditional architectural styles while effectively channeling rainwater away from your foundation.

Question

What materials are your rain chains crafted from, and how do they age over time?

Our premium rain chains are handcrafted from solid copper, brass, and bronze—never plated or hollow materials. Each develops a unique living patina that enhances its character over time. Copper chains evolve from bright penny-tones to rich browns and eventually a distinctive verdigris. For homes where a consistent appearance is preferred, we also offer marine-grade stainless steel and oil-rubbed bronze options that maintain their original finish. All materials are selected specifically for Portland's climate and backed by our lifetime craftsmanship warranty.

Question

What investment should I expect for an artisanal rain chain installation?

Our custom rain chain installations typically range from $450-$1,200 per downspout location, reflecting the craftsmanship, materials, and design complexity. Copper and brass collections start at $450, while our limited-edition designer series begins at $800. Each installation includes our comprehensive water flow assessment, custom length fabrication, professional installation, and gutter adaptation. We provide a detailed, transparent quote after your complimentary design consultation, with financing options available for whole-home installations.

Question

How is a rain chain installed, and how long does the process take?

Our master craftsmen handle every aspect of your rain chain installation. The process begins with a water flow assessment to determine the optimal chain style and length for your home. Installation involves precision gutter modification with our specialized adapters, secure mounting, and water flow testing. Most single-chain installations are completed in 2-3 hours with minimal disruption. For whole-home installations (typically 4-8 chains), we generally complete the transformation in a single day. We schedule installations year-round, with our current appointment availability approximately 2 weeks out.

Question

Do rain chains require maintenance, and how do they perform during heavy Portland rainfall?

Our rain chains are engineered specifically for the Pacific Northwest's rainfall patterns and require minimal maintenance. Unlike gutters, they're self-cleaning as water flow naturally removes debris. During Portland's heaviest downpours, our properly sized chains handle water volume efficiently while creating a more dramatic water feature effect. For winter protection in areas with freezing temperatures, we offer our optional Winter-Guard system. Most clients simply enjoy watching their chain's patina naturally develop, though we do offer a biannual maintenance program for those preferring to maintain a specific appearance.

Question

What's the best way to see how rain chains would look on my specific home?

We offer complimentary design consultations where our rain chain specialists bring material samples and design portfolios directly to your home. Using our visualization technology, we can show you exactly how different styles and finishes will look on your specific architecture. Many clients find this in-person experience invaluable for making their selection. To schedule your no-obligation consultation, simply click the "Design Consultation" button above, call us at 503-558-8700, or select a convenient time using our online calendar. Current availability is approximately 3-5 days out.
